[ID3 Dev] requested feature

[kermit blue]

i'm an outsider to the field, but yes i read that as well about 2.4.
that was why i wasn't sure if this list was the right place to ask about 
this.
i don't know the difficulty for adopting changes, but this would be a good 
change to adopt.
